“Aanewala Pal…,
Jaanewala Hai….,
Aanewala Pal…, Jaanewala
Hai…,
Ho Sake To Iss Mein
Zindagi Bitaado,
Pal Jo Yeh Jaanewala Hai
Ho Ho…..”
Well.., I’m sure most of
us have heard this super hit song from ‘Golmaal’, sung by legendary Kishore
Kumar. Musical, melodious and so insightful, Wow..!
The mindfully written
lyric of this song take us through the journey of life; explains about living in the present moment by taking
it easy with all the past worries, present tensions and future uncertainties;
portrays time being so essential –
never waits for anyone, never remains the same, stressful phases appear to fade
away soon teaching us lessons on how to deal with them with an unruffled and
controlled mind.
Just analyzed this song
and I felt our LIFE is NO different. We lead a highly stressful life. Numerous
routine situational encounters causes stress and tension. Whether, professional
or personal, our mind gets ruffled very soon and we react instantly instead of
deciding camly. We forget that stressful phases will pass away smoothly if
we react conscientiously.
Recently, a good friend
of mine (aged about 45 years) surrendered to suicide. He was a Sr. Manager in a
private bank, living with two kids, parents and his wife. Everything was going
smooth (or rather we assumed it to be so externally) until I heard this terrible
news from his family. Life took a terrible U-turn for this family. Kids are
still in school and his wife a home-maker. With no other source of income they
are clueless of their livelihood now.
What could have been the
reason? Where/ what went wrong? Etc.– His family is still searching for
answers. Whatever the reason, He is no more with his family. He left his
dependent family alone and struggling.
Couldn’t he avoid this
terrible incident? Would he not have discussed it with someone trustworthy? Was
it not have been possible for him to react camly? - All these doubts may
have been clarified, but the damage is already done, can’t help it or reverse
it.
Anyone of us could be a
victim of such a behaviour. Life is uncertain and full of surprises. While a
person is deep asleep and if the roof falls on his head due to an earthquake,
then that’s really unfortunate, nothing can be done about such instantaneous unconscious
occurrences. But acts like suicide I think, can be avoided.
Combating it isn’t easy,
but certainly possible.
Socializing: ‘Lonesomeness,
Depression, Trauma’ are close pals of Suicide. By nature, we are all social beings.
We all have our own societies, friends, family, loved ones, relatives, etc, who
we like to engage with. Socializing aids to express our feelings, discuss
thoughts, exchange ideas and most importantly avoid pals of suicide.
Hobbies/
Interests/ Passions: Monotonous
life makes life dull, boring and lonely which is dangerous. Engaging ourselves
in such activities, anything that we enjoy doing helps to refresh, enjoy life
and stay positive.
Fitness: It could be in any/ combination/ all
forms – sports, morning/evening walk, jogging, yoga, aerobics, gym, meditation, etc, keeps
us strong, active and positive.
Eating
Habits: Drinking lots
of water (not immediately after meals), Eating more fruits (on an empty stomach
mostly), vegetables, food that is rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, etc.,
builds immunity, body balance and strength.
Sleep: A good 6-8 hours of sleep
daily (but not immediately after meals), keeps mind fresh, memory active and
body fit.
Music: A proven remedy for
stress, fatigue, strain, lonesomeness, boredom. Combining with dance (if
interested) can be an added benefit.
Losing all hopes is easy;
looking at great achievers like APJ Abdul Kalam, Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein,
etc. makes us feel very small. But, inspiration is all around us. Little
struggles, thoughts, ideas, achievements of people around us can leave us
touched and inspired.
“Balanced life is sane,
serious insane”
“With every problem
comes a solution”
“Take it easy”
“Go with the flow”
“Life is a journey,
enjoy it”
And so on….
